Peter C. Fritz
B.Sc., D.D.S., F.R.C.D. (C), Ph.D. (Perio)
Dr. Peter Fritz is a certified specialist in Periodontics and is in full-time private practice in Fonthill, Ontario. The focus of his periodontal practice is dental implant therapy, bone and soft tissue reconstruction, and oral medicine.
He completed his B.Sc. degree at McMaster University and his D.D.S. degree at the University of Toronto. Dr. Fritz practiced General Dentistry in Burlington for 5 years before obtaining a Fellowship in Periodontics from the Royal College of Dentists of Canada. Dr. Peter Fritz considers the most important part of his clinical training to be the completion of his second doctorate, a Ph.D. in the molecular biology of bone formation from the University of Toronto. This provides Dr. Peter Fritz with the ability to approach clinical problems from a rigorous scientific perspective.
Dr. Fritz is Staff Periodontist for the Niagara Health System, President of the Welland District Dental Society, and Vice President of the Ontario Society of Periodontists.
Dr. Fritz has lectured extensively across North America and the United Kingdom and has published several implant and bone related articles and three book chapters. Dr Fritz has developed continuing education programs involving dentists, specialists and hygienists with the goal to provide a learning experience that facilitates the achievement of excellence for all dental professionals. With Professor Wendy Ward of the University of Toronto, Dr. Fritz founded the Niagara Peninsula Dental Hygienist Study Club and Perio in the Peninsula Study Club , both international continuing education programs for dental professionals. Dr. Fritz has participated at international Periodontal and Implant Conferences in England, Switzerland and Germany
In 2009, Dr. Fritz will be attending conferences in Stockholm, Sweden and presenting a paper at the European Academy of Osseointegration in Monaco.

Assunta is a Certified Dental Assistant. She has worked with Dr. Fritz since 1997 and has assisted in over 10000 procedures. Formerly a Registered Practical Nurse, her experience with medically compromised patients and the elderly is of benefit for all of our paztients. Assunta is an instructor in the “Perio in the Peninsula ” lecture series where she demonstrates instrument management systems and strict infection control protocols used in dental offices today. Assunta is a board member for Womens Place of South Niagara. |

Donna is a Registered Dental Hygienist with 20 years experience. She has been working with Dr. Fritz since 2005. Her friendly and calm approach facilitates her treatment of periodontal patients with all levels of dental anxiety. Donna has received additional training as a hygienist in Washington, D.C. and will be advancing her skills at Europerio 6 in Stockholm, Sweden in June 2009. |

Erika is our Patient Treatment Co-ordinator and she will harmonize your visit. She is organized, caring and clear, all qualities which will make your visit as effortless as possible. Erika obtained her Certificate in Practice Management from the University of Toronto in 2008. Erika has been working with Dr. Fritz since 2005. |

Margie is a Registered Nurse and has 18 years nursing experience, specifically with seniors and special needs patients. Margie also works part time at the Welland Hospital Emergency Department. Her chief objective is to ensure your periodontal experience is as pleasant and comfortable as possible. Margie has worked with Dr. Fritz since 2005. |

Sheila is a Registered Dental Hygienist with 20 years experience. She has worked with Dr. Fritz since 2002. Sheila is experienced in treating patients with all levels of dental anxiety. In conjunction with the R.N. and Dr. Fritz, Sheila often provides deep cleanings while the patient is asleep. Sheila has attended continuing education courses at the regional, provincial and national level. She will be furthering her hygiene skills in Stockholm, Sweden at an international conference for periodontists and hygienists. |

Vicki is a Registered Nurse and has 20 years experience as an emergency room nurse at the Welland Hospital . She has worked with Dr. Fritz since 2002 in providing intravenous sedation for anxious patients in the periodontal office. Her primary role as head nurse is to guide and monitor the anxious patient throughout their periodontal or implant treatment making it a safe and comfortable experience. Vicki’s ability to relax patients with her calm and gentle style is appreciated by everyone. With her spare time, Vicki is working on her Private Pilot’s License. |

Mike is a Registered Nurse with 16 years nursing experience, 12 of which are as an Emergency Room nurse at the Welland Hospital. Mike is a former police officer and is currently working as a professional firefighter. Mike will ensure your comfort and safety during your visit. |

Sharon is a registered nurse and has 27 years experience as an emergency room nurse at the Welland hospital. Sharon is noted for her "people skills" displayed by her attentive, friendly and relaxed manner. |

Jordanna, is a Certified Dental Receptionist. She graduated with honours from the Dental Office Administration program at Niagara College. With a warm demeanor and friendly smile she'll help you synchronize your appointments with your daily life. |

Ruth is one of our newest members of our periodontal team. Her main role within the office is dental receptionist. Ruth began her receptionist career within the Niagara dental community in 1996. Her experience and friendly manner will allow your transition at the front desk to be a pleasant one. Ruth has also resumed the responsibilities of being our event co-ordinator. Specifically, she organizes the seminars for both the ‘Niagara Peninsula Dental Hygienist Study Club’ and ‘Perio in the Peninsula Study Club’. |

Linda is the newest member of our team. She is a Registered Dental Hygienist with over twenty years experience including teaching dental hygiene for 7 years at Niagara College. In addition to her strong commitment to lifelong learning and professional development as a hygienist, she also recently earned a Certificate in Adult Education at Niagara College. |
